Job Description

The Buyer is responsible for overseeing the procurement and distribution of materials, supplies, equipment, and products in accordance with company needs and customer requirements. This role focuses on strategic sourcing, cost management, inventory support, and ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Responsibilities

• Strategically source and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment to provide the best value for Plasma Processes.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement within purchasing processes.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels to ensure materials are available to meet customer delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with the shipping department to support the timely delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and shipping charges.
• Monitor short- and long-term material requirements using Global Shop Solutions (GSS) to manage and act on daily ERP messages.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal departments to support purchasing and production needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
• Three to five years of experience in a related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with Global Shop Solutions software preferred.
• ERP system experience required.
• Motivated, team-oriented, and creative, with the ability to identify solutions and process improvements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to tolerate a combination of prolonged standing, bending, stretching, and sitting while working at a desk or computer.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
